Redcaps Montrose

A party of 7 of us used Redcap on Sat. What a little gem of a place. We were there for our son's birthday. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food was lovely, the owners even baked the most beautiful birthday cake. Dog friendly as well which was great. A special thanks to Cameron for hosting our game and making the day most enjoyable. There are some establishments when you walk in and immediately know that it's not going to be a very good experience. Redcaps however, was not one of these places. I visited with my family for a birthday event, the food was set up ahead of time almost in a buffet style. Additional drinks were ordered and served in a timely manner and were of high quality too. We were given some time to have our lunch both to allow Cameron, the games host to set the game up, and to allow us to settle in too. We brought our own games, playing Blood on the Clocktower for a few hours, a game he had to learn about ahead of time and despite this, he did an excellent job of setting the game up for us. To add to this, the rest of the staff decided to join in with us for what became a 13 player game which I thought was great of them to do. One of the chefs also baked a tremendous cake the night before for the event and deserves their own special mention here. All of the staff members involved were very pleasant to talk to and helped to create an excellent afternoon for everyone involved. I'm not even remotely local to the area, but I would definitely go back and highly recommend it to anyone interested going somewhere to enjoy some party games with like minded people and have some great food along with it.

I booked with Red Cap Games for my partner's 30th Birthday. From the very first point of contact with the team, they were superb and very considerate. We agreed on holding a session of Blood On The Clock Tower, with family and friends, which was kindly hosted by the very charismatic Cameron. Luke and his team truly were so brilliant in hosting us overall. They provided us with a; very nice selection of finger foods - catering to dietary requirements also, bespoke Birthday cake- chocolate and hazelnut cream, Birthday decorations, the lovely Cameron as host for 5 hours - though that's because we had a dinner reservation and they were very happy to host us for as long as we'd have reasonably been able to stay, they stretched their opening times for us on the day as well with that, and ultimately facilitated a celebration we'll all never forget. I should also add that Red Cap Games is inclusive and very keen to make board games accessible to everyone- as a blind individual and another joining us with a visual impairment too, we were made very comfortable and had no issues participating equally within the game. It was a thrilling afternoon and we'll all absolutely be visiting again. It's such a perfect space to connect with people within the center of Montrose, with a good selection of games and food, even the family dog is welcome to come along. I personally couldn't thank the team or recommend them highly enough! Huge thanks to Luke, Cameron, M, Daniel, and Liam all the same. We all really appreciate the effort and work you all put into making the day so unbelievably special. I very much look forward to visiting and seeing you all again soon.

Best place i have eaten in a while, absolutely fantastic service from all staff. Polite, well mannered, down to earth folks & a real chilled relaxed atmosphere. Food is great, 10 outta 10 all round. Oh and the cappicinos are !

We visited for brunch and a few games of chess. We all had pancakes bacon and maple syrup. The pancakes were BIG, homemade and delicious. Iced coffee was lovely too. The staff were all friendly, the cafe was very clean and lots of board games to play. We will definitely be back.

Great relaxed atmosphere and the staff were warm and friendly. Good choice of games to sit down with - there were a few us adults would've liked to try out, but the kids couldn't agree so we played trivial pursuit in the end. We also picked up a couple of expansions for Carcassonne from their shop. Would definitely visit again next time we're in the area.
